The opening round of the Third leg of the IGU East Zone Amateur Feeder Tour 2024, the Tolly Classic, took place at the Tollygunge Club, where forty amateurs competed across five categories: Amateurs, Mid Amateurs, Senior, Super Senior, and Ladies. Saquib Hussain took the lead in the Amateurs category with a score of one-over-par 71. Ahaan Gupta and Akarshit V Kumar followed closely with four-over-par 74 each. In the Mid Amateur category, Abhishek Mitra leads with a seven-over-par 77, while G Suresh and Sumit Kakkar share the second spot with a score of fifteen-over-par 85. Fizza Ali leads in the Ladies category with a nine-over-par 79. In the Senior category, K Indrajit and Sumit Banerjee share the top spot with thirteen-over-par 83, followed by Jaydeep Chitlangia with an 86. Ashit Luthra leads the Super Senior category with an 89, followed by Sovit Chakraborty with a 92. The tournament spans two days, with the final round scheduled for March 4th. As the competition continues, all eyes are on Saquib Hussain, Fizza Ali, and the other competitors as they vie for victory in the Tolly Classic.
